Data sources
- Live: IBKR Gateway (
POST /api/options/chain/{symbol}). Bid/ask come
from the top-of-book; volume + OI from the last snapshot.
- Fallback: yfinance (15-min delay) when the gateway is unauthenticated
or US markets are closed. The toolbar badge tells you what you currently see ("Source: IBKR live" or "yfinance 15-min").
- Spot + ATR52 of the underlying come from the company detail endpoint
(GET /api/screener/companies/{symbol}) and are used client-side for the ATR× column. The ATR52 raw value is a USD amount (e.g. 1.18 USD); the ATR× column is a multiple of it (e.g. 1.38× ATR).
Filters
- Expiry: required selection, all maturities reported by the provider.
- Strike distance +/- (%): only show strikes inside the band
Spot * (1 +/- N%). The default is derived from your strategy: ceil( max_atr_distance_load(L1, L2, CC) x ATR52 / Spot x 100 ). This way the candidates that the screener and option quick view load are automatically visible in the full chain too - independent of the underlying's volatility. If you override the value manually, a reset chip appears below that snaps back to the strategy-derived value.
- Min OI: strikes with lower open interest are filtered out.
Consistency note (02.08.2026): all three views (full chain, option quick view on the company page, cross-symbol options screener) use the same DTE range and the same ATR-based moneyness band derived from your strategy profile. Identical strikes appear everywhere - one rule, three views.
Premium percentages
Praemie% (premium %) is displayed with two decimals in the full chain (Mid / Strike). Single-decimal rounding hides too much detail for shallow ATM strikes with low mids.
Mid precision
The MID column is shown with three decimals (e.g. 0.815) so you can copy the exact value. Returns are always computed from the unrounded mid, not from the displayed figure.
Action buttons
Only the SELL buttons are active:
- V-C / V-P open the proposal dialog with symbol, option type, strike,
expiry and mid pre-filled - the rest of the flow (account selection, plan gate, position sizing) is identical to the options screener.
- K-C / K-P are disabled. The wheel strategy sells options, it does
not buy them.
Classification column (Class.)
The outermost column on each side shows the result of a deterministic filter classification per strike. It is derived solely from premium, ATR distance to spot and your current stock position in the underlying – not a recommendation, not investment advice, not a forecast.
- CC ✅ / CC ⚠ – covered-call criteria met (you hold shares of
the symbol).
- L1 ✅ / L1 ⚠ – cash-secured-put criteria met without an
existing stock position.
- L2 ✅ / L2 ⚠ – cash-secured-put criteria met with an existing
stock position (cost-basis reduction).
- ITM / - – strike is in the money or outside the classification
criteria (ATR distance, premium thresholds, strike-vs-cost etc.).
The cell tooltip lists the criteria that applied in each case. The value is an algorithmic filter result, not an instruction to trade.
Strike badges
- 📅 (CalendarClock icon) – earnings inside the strategy window
(default 7 days).
- 🪙 (Coins icon) – ex-dividend between today and expiry.
Both markers come straight from the risk-flag machinery of the evaluation service.
Greeks tooltip
The MID cell has a tooltip with delta (Δ), gamma (Γ), theta (Θ) and vega (ν). Greeks are delivered live by the IBKR gateway; in the yfinance fallback they are usually missing.
