Depot value over time

The Depot value tab under Dashboard → Performance charts your entire portfolio as a time series: NetLiq (total portfolio value) as a line, with cash / stocks / options stacked underneath as an area, plus coloured dots marking cashflow events on the timeline.

Where do the data points come from?

We record a daily snapshot of your portfolio automatically as soon as your IBKR gateway is authenticated for the first time on that day. This happens inside the existing 1-minute sync loop – no separate cron, no fixed time.

Consequences:

  • If your gateway is not online at all on a given day, there is no

point for that day and the line skips it visually.

  • If the gateway runs all day, the snapshot is updated multiple times –

by the evening the value effectively reflects the end-of-day state.

  • Snapshots come fresh from the gateway (NetLiq, cash, stock value,

option value, unrealized P&L) and are stored in both USD and EUR. You can toggle without a reload.

Markers on the curve

MarkerMeaningSource
GoldDividenddividends (cash dividends from the Flex import)
GreenDeposittax_events (deposit)
RedWithdrawaltax_events (withdrawal)
PurpleCC assignment (stock sold via call)trades with is_assignment=true, CALL
BluePut assignment (stock bought via put)trades with is_assignment=true, PUT

Use the filter chips below the chart to hide/show individual marker types. Hovering a dot shows symbol, amount and description in the tooltip.

What you can see

  • Is the portfolio growing? The blue line tells you – no matter

whether the gain comes from trading or from new deposits.

  • Was it return or fresh capital? Green deposit dots explain

upward jumps that are not caused by trades.

  • Drawdowns: short dips caused by market moves on open positions.

We do not count those as realized P&L, but they are visible in NetLiq.

Settings

  • Range: 30D / 90D / 6M / 1Y / 5Y (click to change)
  • Currency: follows your display_currency in the global settings

(EUR or USD), overridable per view.

Phase 2 (planned)

  • Time-Weighted Return as a metric (return adjusted for deposits

and withdrawals)

  • Marker thresholds (e.g. only show dividends above 10 EUR)
  • Historical backfill via IBKR Flex MTMPerformanceSummaryInBase

once the section is enabled in the Flex query.

Prerequisites for deposits/withdrawals

Deposits and withdrawals are imported only if your IBKR Flex query has the CashTransactions section enabled. Without it, the green/red markers are missing – the rest of the curve still works fine.
