IBKR maintenance-window banner

Interactive Brokers runs a daily maintenance window during which the Client Portal (the interface we use to submit orders and read live data) restarts. During that window login, order sync and live quotes are not reliably available.

WheelTrading exposes that window directly in the header so you do not send orders into it.

Time display

• Displayed in Europe/Berlin (your local timezone) in 24h format.
• Typically the IBKR window shows up as roughly 05:45-06:45 local time

(the exact minutes shift slightly with DST).

• The banner also indicates whether the gateway is running or

waiting for IBKR.

App behaviour during the window

• The gateway container startup no longer blocks on IBKR - it now boots

the container upfront and reports "Waiting for IBKR". This removes a class of boot timeouts.

• Proposals remain visible but cannot be sent. The send dialog surfaces

a clear error ("Gateway offline - IBKR maintenance window").

• Order reconcile automatically pauses so temporary empty order lists

are not mis-interpreted as "order withdrawn".

• Telegram alerts for the maintenance window are intentionally muted so

you do not receive a daily alarm at the same time.

Recommendation

• Ideally send orders before or after the daily window.
• If you do not see the banner, refresh the page - the time is cached

server-side.

Note: The window is dictated by IBKR. WheelTrading cannot shorten it, only surface it clearly.
