AI outlook (Gemini)
On the company research page, next to the raw numbers, there is a "AI outlook" block that puts the stock into words as a Wheel underlying — similar to asking ChatGPT or Gemini a short question about the name.
What you get
The outlook is broken into clear sections:
- Verdict – one sentence: is this currently a good seller's
candidate?
- Fundamentals – 2-4 sentences: P/E, payout, beta in the context
of the sector median.
- Outlook – 2-4 sentences: near to medium-term view, including a
"fallen angel" read where appropriate.
- Scenarios (Bull / Base / Bear) – 1-2 sentences each.
- Key risks and potential catalysts as short bullets.
- Data sources and AI disclaimer.
How it works
- Your own API key required: To keep the data transfer to the US
and the token cost on your side, each user brings their own Google Gemini API key. The free tier is enough — get a key at <https://aistudio.google.com/app/apikey>.
- Store the key: In the narrative panel click "Add Gemini key"
(later just "Key"), paste the key, hit "Save". The key is stored AES-128-encrypted in your personal settings. If you have 2FA enabled, the system asks for your 6-digit code once.
- Generate: "Load AI outlook" sends the stock facts to Gemini and
shows the response.
- Cache (24 h): The result is cached per symbol + language in the
database. Other users opening the same stock see the cached entry without triggering a new Gemini call. Users without their own key still see existing entries — but can't refresh them.
- Regenerate: "Regenerate" forces a fresh analysis (rate-limited,
max. 5 per minute, key required).
What is sent to Google
Only publicly available stock metrics of the requested symbol: ticker, price, P/E, beta, dividend yield, sector comparison, ATR, drawdown, performance, earnings date, plus the language. No account, portfolio or trading data.
See the privacy policy section "Optional AI analysis (Google Gemini, USA)" for details.
Free tier vs. paid Google Cloud
- Free tier: Google may use the transmitted content to train its
models. Since we only send public market data, this is usually uncritical for personal use.
- Paid tier (Google Cloud): training use is contractually
excluded. Recommended if you do not want this.
Setup pitfall: "limit: 0" / free-tier quota not active
If you see the message "Your Google Cloud project has no free-tier quota for this model (limit: 0)" on the first try, that almost always means Google created your key inside an empty / misconfigured Cloud project. It will reproduce with every model because the whole project has no quota.
Option A (free, recommended first attempt):
- Open <https://aistudio.google.com/app/apikey>.
- Click "Create API key".
- Pick "In new project" (not "In existing project")
- Google then provisions a fresh project with the Gemini API enabled
and a valid free-tier quota.
- Copy the new key, open "Enter a different key" in the Wheel-Trading
editor, paste, save.
- "Regenerate" - should work now.
Option B (enable billing):
If Option A also fails (e.g. Google throttles free tier in your region), simply add a payment method in the Google Cloud Console. Realistic cost for a Wheel-Trading personal use:
- 1 analysis (
gemini-2.0-flash-001): ~600 input + 400 output tokens. - Cost per analysis: about 0.022 cent (= USD 0.00022).
- A 10 EUR prepaid balance lasts for roughly 45,000 analyses.
Tip: in the Google Cloud Console under Billing -> Budgets & alerts set a warning at e.g. 5 EUR - Google will email you before anything unexpected happens.
Which model when?
Gemini 2.0 Flash 001(default) - most reliable free-tier choice,
responds in a few seconds, quality is sufficient for option-seller outlooks.
Gemini 2.5 Flash- newer, may require larger token quotas.Gemini 2.5 Pro- longer, more elaborate answers, always paid
(no free tier).
Important
- This is not investment advice. The analysis is a written summary
by the model based on the numbers shown above.
- Models can misinterpret or embellish things. Cross-check claims
against the raw data and against external sources.
- You can delete your key any time via the "Key" button in the panel
— that also revokes your consent to processing.
